I want to thank you for reaching out to my office. We have had such a large response from the recent AARP article from patients all across the country with various conditions, unfortunately we are not able to work-up or treat everything. Unless you have a confirmed diagnosis of a peripheral nerve condition, then you need to continue your work-up and treatment with your local physicians.
Before you reach out, please see the list of things that my office and I will not be able to offer you.
1. My office and I do not give any recommendations for doctors or treatments across the country.
2. I do not treat back pain or spine issues.
3. I do not offer emergency consults.
4. Our office will not contact your friend or family member just to speak to them about their condition.
5. I do not offer consults for anything outside of my area of expertise.
6. I do not manage chronic pain or prescribe pain medications.
7. I do not offer a general work-up or physical exam to diagnose your pain or weakness.
If you are reaching out with any of the above requests, you will need to work with your local medical providers and team.
If you do have a confirmed diagnosis of a periheral nerve injury or compression, then we can review your records to see if there is something that we can offer. I will need the following:
1. Referral letter from your physician explaining in detail the exact peripheral nerve condition that you have been diagnosed with and that a surgical consult is appropraite.
2. Your EMG nerve study and potentially any other pertinent records that your physician feels is important for your referral request.
Once we have your referral letter from your physician and results confirming your peripheral nerve diagnosis, then our office will reveiw documents and determine if you are potentially a surgical candidate. We may require additional records after the initial review. For patients, who my be surgical candidates, then we would have you schedule an in-person consultation.
Please have your physician fax the referral letter and records to our office at 713-441-6929. it will take 1-2 weeks to review the documents due to the high volume of patient referrals.
